The Bulletin Buried by New Media
The Bulletin magazine has long past its shelf-life (it is nearly 130 years old) and is now being axed. Notch one up for New Media:
A statement from ACP Magazines' [publisher of The Bulletin] chief executive, Scott Lorson has attributed a drop in circulation of the magazine to the impact of expanding online coverage of news and current affairs.
Expect more of this: old dead tree media finding it increasingly difficult to reach an populace increasingly sceptical of MSM's claim of impartiality and who are also spending more time online.
Fare thee well The Bulletin, we will not miss thee. Next up, The Sydney Morning Herald.
I don't read it because I read online media, but the Bully was a good read and a lot of excellent work was done there.
Its a pity the enterprise couldn't develop a profitable readership.
